Bus Routes & Transportation
Information about transportation at FWE!
There are many ways that students may get to school at FWE. Students may walk, ride bikes, carpool or ride the school bus. This page will help familiarize you with the procedures coming and going to school.
Transportation changes must be made by sending a note with your child. Parents are asked to let their student know how they will be going home from school in the mornings. If any changes need to be made to their dismissal, parents are to notify the school no later than 1:30 p.m. Due to the student’s daily schedule, students will not be permitted to check out after 1:45 p.m.

Walkers & Bike Riders
Students who ride bicycles to school must leave them in the designated area(s). All bicycles should be locked up. Under Florida law, any person who is under the age of 16 and is riding a bicycle, or is a passenger on a bicycle, must wear a bicycle helmet which meets certain standards. Law enforcement officers and school crossing guards are authorized to issue a bicycle safety brochure and a verbal warning to anyone violating this requirement. Violators may be assessed a fine or issued a traffic citation. For safety purposes, only one student should ride on the bicycle. Bicycles are to be walked while on campus. Violations may result in revoking a student’s privilege to ride their bike to and from school.
Walking students may enter through the gate at the front of the school along Highlands Avenue, or to the rear of the school from Youth Care Lane. Parents who are walking with their student need to say goodbye at the gate, or check in at the office if you have an appointment with a staff member. Students should not be walked to class.
Parent Pickup/Drop-off
For safety purposes, parents/guardians must remain in their cars and wait in line during arrival and dismissal. If you have an appointment, please park at the front of the school and enter through the office and check in.
Parent drop-off/pick-up is located along the sidewalk beside the cafeteria. Cars should enter through the 2nd (west) entrance on Youth Care Lane and proceed north through the parking lot and pull as far forward as possible along the sidewalk adjacent to the cafeteria.
- Students will not be allowed to cross the parking lot alone.
- Cars are not allowed to park, pick-up, or drop off in the bus ramp area (state law).
- Please use designated parking spaces when visiting our campus at the front of the campus.
- Any students who are tardy need to go to the front office and get a tardy slip before going to class.
All families will be provided with (2) rear-view mirror ID hangers with their student(s) identified on it by an anonymous number. A school employee will call for students while adults remain in their car. If a family forgets their card, they must check in at the front office to have the student released to them.
Starting Monday, March 9, 2020 students will be charged $5.00 for lost/misplaced Zonar School Bus passes. Please visit your area Transportation Department to pay the $5.00 fee and receive a receipt. Once the fee is paid, we will print your student a new card and send it to your student's assigned bus.
